Ozark streams... ...are in my dreams Stars moon leaves....laying in water Hellbender! Is there any water left for you? Hellbender! Where are you layin’ in water? You’re one of the lucky ones Where is your water comin’ from? Is it Devil’s Branch? Is it Devil’s Backbone? Is it Devil’s Den? Is it Devil’s Elbow? Is it Devil’s Icebox? Is it Devil’s Kitchen? Is it Devil’s Rockpile? Is it Devil’s Run?

When I was young I went around the block To visit the neighbor lady Hopin she had something good to eat I asked her and she said maybe Then I saw it way up high A golden brown delicious pie I had to know what was inside I reached on high, she asked me why I said Chorus I got abstract fingers They go where they’re not supposed to go They go there because they think they know That I ain’t watchin them Then I started heading straight out of town and woke up in a strange city I started roaming all around I'm not asking for your pity I knew I could not trust my thighs perhaps my eyes would make me wise or my ears could keep me apprised But I'm just outside a surprise when I open a door . . . Chorus I’m respectable now, I got bunches of keys I drive to the farmer’s market I look for nice and legal space I know just where to park it But when I see the luscious fruit I fondle every stalk and root My lady she turns up her snoot I’m buttoned up inside my suit But from the wrist on down . . . Chorus

Walking Man 03:23
If you see me don't try to free me It has to be this way Don't try to stall me don't try to call me I won't have a word to say I'm the walking man Walking all over your town I'm the walking man Just walking up and down I'm not looking for love or heaven above Not looking for a smoke or a toke Not looking for a glove not looking for a shove Not looking for a poke or a Coke But I'm looking for something Looking for something . . . Don't try to name me don't try to shame me Don't tell me how to be Don't try to save me don't try to shave me Don't run me up your tree I'm the walking man Walking all over your town I'm the walking man Just walking up and down I'm not looking for a pass not looking for a glass Not looking for a meal or a feel Not looking for a bath not looking for a path Not looking for a wheel or a deal But I'm looking for something Looking for something . . .

V1: It's your last day on earth, now, how you gonna spend it, how you gonna spend your very last day? Are you gonna feel sad, are you gonna feel angry, gonna wish you lived your life a different way? Or are you gonna feel strong, gonna feel ready, gonna feel you lived your life just the right way? Well the camel can’t get through the eye of the needle, eye of the needle, camel can’t go. So don’t look back as you slip through the needle, slip through the needle to the sky below. CHORUS: I’ll see you through, it’s the last thing I’ll do; don’t look back, cross the gap. V2: It's your last day on earth, now, how you gonna end it, how you gonna end your very last day? You could listen to some music, listen to the heartbeat, following the rhythm as it fades away, Or you could take a little walk, now, deep into a forest, find a place to sleep so far away Well the camel can’t get through the eye of the needle, eye of the needle, camel can’t go. So don’t look back as you slip through the needle, slip through the needle to the sky below. CHORUS: Please don’t cry, as I wave good-bye; you’ll forget that we ever met. Bridge: Well I believe that each and every one, will find their own redemption, the journey has begun, following the sun! And I believe the truth shall set us free, eventually; that we always need, that we shall receive! End: It's your last day on earth, how you gonna spend it, how you gonna spend your very last day? It's your last day on earth, how you gonna end it, how you gonna end your very last day?

I’ve spent a lifetime being cautious I’ve spent a lifetime being good When it snows I always wear galoshes I think that everybody should But now I think my time is finally coming Temptations and delights are all around A lot of good intentions will be done in When this good ship touches down Chorus Done in by hot sweet boozy cherries sitting at the bar I’m feeling good and fine Done in by sweet exuberance, I’m wishing on a star That I could make you mine When opportunity comes knocking I’ll already be going out the door I’m gonna let you do all of the talking Cause I’ll be busy making love not war I’m going where the menu is delicious I’m gonna lay salvation on the line Ain’t no one gonna make me do the dishes I’m going where the sun don’t shine Chorus Repeat verse one and chorus

We want you to be happy We want you to be well But you can bet that your safety net Is dragging you to hell Without it you will prosper Everything’s going to be fine Just as it says in the gospel “You’ve got yours and I’ve got mine” You need easy answers You need panaceas Welcome, welcome Welcome, welcome Welcome to the House of Bad Ideas We care about your water We care about your air They may stink but still we think They make a lovely pair All this regulation Is just to much too much to pay It stifles innovation And just gets in the way We’ll dig our coal and take the oil From Sunnis and from Shias Welcome, welcome Welcome, welcome Welcome to the House of Bad Ideas Our military’s growing And has us standing tall To keep the peace we must increase The budget for it all We’re all in this together Toward a better day When all of you are winners And the losers run away We’re going to fix the Middle East And both of the Koreas Welcome, welcome Welcome, welcome Welcome to the House of Bad Ideas We’re all about your liberties Just don’t say certain words “Science-based” and “climate change” Are strictly for the birds And skip that silly sympathy For people down and out Just sing “My Country ‘tis of Thee” That’s what it’s all about A border wall is just the thing For Josés and Marias Welcome, welcome Welcome, welcome Welcome to the House of Bad Ideas

V1: Pick up the paper, reading the story, another smack-down for the super-majority Common man, he’s on the run, wealthy man, he’s having fun Common man says, where do I sign, I’ll believe anything, keep me in line You got me blaming the poor, protecting the boss, thinking up is down and a win is a loss, I’m so confused, I don’t know what to do, guess I’ll scratch my head, and have another brew Chorus: I got the over-educated, partly liberated, under-medicated ….. Yeah! liberal man blues I got the blue state, red face, third place; cheap date, switch bait, can’t wait… … liberal man blues Now ain’t it the truth, what are you gonna do. V2: Watching Fox News, spinning the story, another defeat for the common glory Working man, he’s working late, big boss man, he licks the plate, Working man says, can I kiss your feet? Whatever it takes to get a little to eat You got me under your thumb, fighting for crumbs, hoping I’ll do better when the next world comes, I’m so confused, I don’t know what to do, guess I’ll scratch my head, and have another brew Chorus

Hold On 02:40

about

Our second album, Stone Cold, has been a long time coming. We were goofing around, okay? The studio is hard work. Monday night jams are not. But eventually we wrote enough songs and got good enough at them that the idea of recording again grew and grew and eventually carried us into the studio like a tsunami of sound. Wil Reeves was there and made it fun and painless.

We actually still have several originals (and a lot of covers) that we haven't recorded yet. If anyone else wants to record them for us, please call Ken or Noah. Otherwise it will probably be quite a few whiskey Mondays before we get around to it.
